Coldspring United Methodist Church invites you to become actively involved, as a volunteer, in our local and international mission program.

One of the most effective ways to grow spiritually, meet others, and serve those in need is by volunteering to assist with the Coldspring United Methodist Church's Mission opportunities each year.

A vision of the Coldspring United Methodist Church Mission Committee is to invite others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and one another through serving.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in ..."  Matthew 25:35

Our Neighborhood Table invites all who will come to enjoy a fine meal while joining each other in Christian fellowship.  It is the last Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Our church invites you to become actively involved as a volunteer in our local and international mission program.

Houston Food Bank - we make one or two trips to the food bank and work cleaning, sorting, and re-packing food to be sent out to local food distribution centers, such as our own Care Share Mission.

Christmas Families - Our church adopts over 30 families each year and provides gifts and food during the holiday season.

"Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."  Matthew 25:40

Habitat For Humanity - The mission committee coordinates volunteers for the Habitat project to match the work requirements being done on the home at any particular time.  This includes framing, electrical, insulation, sheet rock, trim and painting.  Habitat needs volunteers, so call 936-653-2087.

Covenant Relationships - Our church has agreed, in 2007, to develop a Covenant Relationship with our "very own" missionary.  This means that our church will support this missionary financially and with our prayers.  In turn, the missionary will correspond with our congregation, advising us of his work, and will visit and become acquainted with us during those times not on assignment.

Partners With Evangelism - Missions and Evangelism Committees join forces in Christian opportunities by offering Bible Study following the Neighborhood Table and one-on-one witnessing with those in need.

Mission Trips - Our church members took a trip to Sager Brown in Baldwin, LA in October.  While there they inspected and packed emergency relief supplies provided by Methodist churches from all over the United States.

P.E.T.  Personal Energy Transportation - For those who have lost the use of their legs due to polio, landmines, injury, amputation or disease.  It's the gift of mobility ... the gift of hope!  There are 22 million people throughout the world who do not have the use of their legs.  The missions committee of Coldspring United Methodist Church has decided that there is something we can do about it.  By joining together with other Methodist Churches across the United States, we have committed to supply the labor and material to build the wooden parts for twenty P.E.T.'s.  Will you help by being a part of this project?
